Love Island’s Faye Winter and Made in Chelsea’s Liv Bentley Go Head-To-Head As Rival Mariachis

Love Island’s and Guide Dogs UK Ambassador Faye Winter and Made In Chelsea’s Liv Bentley are today announcing their ambitions to become mariachi singers. That’s right: the reality TV favourites are expanding their repertoires by undergoing a crash course in everything mariachi before going head-to-head on stage in a bid to be crowned Jose Cuervo’s ‘Dame of the Dead’.

The celebs have been challenged by Mexican tequila Jose Cuervo to celebrate the beauty and culture of Mexico’s Day of the Dead festival. Their unlikely (and hilarious) transformation into mariachis is being documented in a new online mini-series, the first episode of which can be watched here: https://youtu.be/77iK_2p80jA.

Each episode covers a different part of Faye and Liv’s traditional mariachi singing and dancing training – under the watchful eyes of all female mariachi group, Las Adelitas. All the while, the two big personalities fight to outshine each other. Over the course of the series, Faye and Liv will be pushed to their limits as they learn what it takes to be part of a mariachi band, leading to an all-singing, all-dancing final performance.

In the first episode, released today, the celebs come face-to-face with the daunting task ahead when Las Adelitas show them exactly what it means to be a professional mariachi. Although from completely different worlds, Faye and Liv’s competitiveness shines equally as the they offer a very insincere good luck to one another before strutting off in their new mariachi outfits.

Love Island’s Faye Winter comments: “It’s safe to say this challenge set by Jose Cuervo has been exactly that – a challenge. But the skill it takes to be in a mariachi band is something I was born with. Liv on the other hand… Viewers are certainly in for a treat and I look forward to hearing who they think will take the crown (me, obviously).

Made in Chelsea’s Liv Bentley comments: “At first I didn’t realise how out of my comfort zone I would be as a mariachi, but after that I was all-in and I have to say I’m a natural. Training Faye, however, must have tested the band’s patience to breaking point. At the end of the day there can only be one Dame of The Dead… and she’s definitely made in Chelsea.”
