TravelON looked into a range of data to determine the five best and worst airports, ranking them by their star rating, the number of dining and shopping options, and their reliability. This data revealed the following:

London Stansted is the lowest-scored airport, scoring one out of 10.

The third-worst-rated airport on the list is London Luton.

Singapore’s Changi airport is the best in the world, scoring 10 out of 10.

Dave Gainford, Director of TravelON World, said: “The news of the Doncaster Sheffield Airport closure was devastating to many people – it was a highly-rated airport which many UK residents loved and opted to fly from.”

TravelON also considered each airport’s facilities, wait times, and unique attractions. Some of the high-rated airports had a range of special experiences, such as luxury spas, art exhibitions, and even waterfalls.

David commented: “An airport with good facilities and shorter wait times can really enhance the holiday experience. These days, it’s not a matter of which is the closest to people’s homes, holidayers are willing to go out of their way to have a good airport experience and to avoid the less than adequate airports.”
