London Southend Airport is ready to go viral following its involvement in a recent video production from YouTube mega-streamer, MrBeast.
North Carolina-born Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, collaborated with other renowned YouTubers to host his latest challenge.
The airport was chosen thanks to its runway and hanger visuals, while its proximity to central London provided ease of access for a full production that included crew, participants and MrBeast himself.
11 contestants were invited to place their hand on a private jet – which had landed at London Southend Airport prior to the challenge and was worth $2.5m – and hold it there for as long as possible.
The last person to be in contact with the jet… won it.

John Upton, CEO of London Southend Airport, said: “Facilitating such a production is fantastic for raising awareness of our great location, so close to London and serving the East of England.”
“The airport team, many of whom are MrBeast fans, were delighted to safely enable and support the production.”
London Southend Airport staff were given an exclusive behind the scenes glimpse of the multimillion-dollar challenge as they supported the filming over a full 24-hour period.
To offset the environmental impact of the challenge, MrBeast made a reforestation donation to The Arbor Day Foundation.
