When out shopping for that novelty musical tie for Uncle Fred or that singing teapot for Auntie May, don’t forget to grab a real bargain for yourself this Christmas and “bag a booster” at one of the NHS’s many walk-in vaccination clinics.
As the big day nears high streets will be far busier, so shoppers are being urged to take a break and get protect themselves from illness between bargain hunting and avoid spoiling the festive season.
Walk-in appointments to receive COVID-19 and flu jabs are available at a number of locations across mid and south Essex, including “pop-up” points in shopping centres and local communities.
To find out when and where pop-up centres are located, visit the national walk in website or call 119.
Krishna Ramkhelawon, Director of Public Health for Southend said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to get top up vaccinations and protect their health this winter.
The double threat of widely circulating flu and COVID-19 this year is a real concern, so it’s crucial that you take up the free flu vaccine as soon as possible if you are offered it. It will help protect you from severe flu this winter and could even save your life.”
