On Saturday (8th October), GRIDSERVE is hosting an electric vehicle (EV) awareness day at its Electric Forecourt in Braintree.
The GRIDSERVE EV Awareness Day is a day where everyone – new or experienced EV drivers, or those interested in making the switch – can gather to drink good coffee, ask questions, and find out about everything they need to know about EVs – from leasing to charging to sustainability.
These are friendly, relaxing days out for the whole community. Perfect for local business owners to grow their networks, families looking for a weekend activity, or anyone else who wants to learn what they can personally do to help us all tackle the climate emergency. Everyone is welcome – whether they drive an EV or not!
Activities and things available on the day include:
Test Drives – visitors can test drive some of the most popular EVs on the market back-to-back. GRIDSERVE’s EV gurus will also offer impartial advice in a friendly and relaxing environment. Available models will be Polestar 2, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, and Audi Q4 e-tron.
Charging demonstrations – EV Gurus will run you through a simple charging demonstration, coving connection types for every EV, charging speeds and explainer to help drivers understand what all of those confusing acronyms mean.
Myth busting for newcomers – a chance to ask any questions. EVs have been around for a while now, but there are still many myths to bust – from charging in the rain to battery life.
Electric fleets session for business owners – This session focuses on the bottom line for business owners. Fleet experts will talk guests through everything to do with fleet electrification – from the tax benefits like Benefit In Kind (BIK) to fleet charging solutions.
Why choose leasing over buying? – There are so many reasons why leasing is better than buying an EV so leasing experts will show drivers the amount they can save, answer questions about finance and even help drivers to choose an EV that suits their lifestyle.
Local businesses – Suffolk-based Yum Yum Fudge will be supplying a selection of their treats.
A kid’s zone and family activities – A dedicated kid’s zone will keep the little ones busy. Parent supervision is required but there are colouring activities and interactive games such as treasure hunts so they can learn something new and have a bit of fun.
