Camp Beaumont, the UK’s longest established provider of day camps during the school holidays, is extending its free activity places to Ukrainian Children who remain in the UK due to the war for October half term. Out of the 10,000
camp days which were offered during the summer, 7,000 were taken up and Camp Beaumont is delighted to be offering the 3,000 remaining places over October half-term.

40 Camp Beaumont locations are participating in the initiative, which is designed to give Ukrainian children the chance for some much-needed fun and adventure this half-term, with opportunities to learn
something new, practise English and make new friends.

Over 56,000 hours of activities, fun and adventure have already taken place this summer which include
archery, arts and crafts, tennis, superhero academy, aqua Olympics and much more.

Camp Beaumont is partnering with Mail Force, the charity arm of the Daily Mail, to offer the fully funded places to any Ukrainian child aged 5-16 years at 23 camps across London and the Southeast.

One of the parents whose child took part in the scheme, said:
“I am satisfied with the work of the Camp Beaumont team because my son comes to the camp with pleasure, and asks to be the last to [be picked up] from the camp.
Every day there are many games and creative activities, and the main thing is the swimming pool. My son doesn’t speak English well (Ukrainian), but the Camp Beaumont team members find a way to explain and communicate with him. Many thanks and I highly recommend
Camp Beaumont!”

Jof Gaughan, Executive Director, at Camp Beaumont, said: “We were delighted by the success of the initiative over the summer, especially given the short time frame.
Camp Beaumont offers a great environment for Ukrainian children in the UK, who’ve been through so much, and we saw some fantastic outcomes from our activity days during the summer. Feedback from parents of children involved highlighted the benefits for children
including immersion in the language and overall enjoyment, which is crucial for children who have been forced to leave their homes and settle somewhere new without a clear understanding of what their future holds. We’re dedicated to doing whatever we can to
help these children grow in confidence and have a fantastic range of activities for children to enjoy ranging from outdoor sports to arts and crafts sessions – there will even be some spooky surprises to enjoy this half term
