GB News Radio boosts weekly listening figures by 16 per cent

GB NEWS RADIO BOOSTS LISTENER NUMBERS BY 16% & GB NEWS TV AND RADIO NOW HAS 6.3% GREATER WEEKLY AUDIENCE THAN TALK TV AND TALK RADIO COMBINED

GB News Radio reached 277,000 listeners a week over the past three months – as rising numbers of people switched to enjoy the new station.

According to official RAJAR listening figures released today, GB News Radio saw its weekly audience rise 16% from a previous figure of 239,000.

It means GB News Radio, which only launched in January, bucked a wider industry downturn which saw weekly listener figures across all UK radio stations contract by 3%.

According to the RAJAR data, nearly 1.7 million hours of GB News were listened to from April to June – up on the 1.5 million hours recorded in the previous quarter.

The average GB News Radio listener now consumes six hours per week.

GB News TV and Radio boasts a 6.3% greater weekly audience than Talk TV and Talk Radio combined.

Breakfast with Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster ranked as the most listened to show on GB News Radio. Mark Steyn and Dan Wootton Tonight ranked highest on GB News Radio in terms of audience share.

Commenting on the figures, GB News Chief Executive Officer Angelos Frangopoulos, said: “The strong growth of GB News Radio shows that our compelling programming connects with the people of the United Kingdom.

“From breakfast to evenings, weekdays to weekends we are seeing more and more people across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland making the switch to GB News on DAB+”
