Award-winning singer, songwriter, actor and personality Paloma Faith will headline the Times+ Life Lessons Festival on Saturday 10th September at 7:30pm on the Life Lessons With main stage.
Paloma joins a stellar Saturday line-up that features the likes of David Gandy, Jay Blades MBE, Dr Alex George, Dan Snow and Lady Edwina Grovesnor, Ella Mills and many more, sharing their well-informed stories, advice and life lessons to inspire, enlighten and entertain.
The five time critically acclaimed platinum artist said:
“I think in order to achieve the success I have; I must admit that I have existed and learnt how to navigate an industry where men hold the power. This is about judging the right moments to be stupid, the right moments to be funny, and the right moments to demonstrate my intelligence. “I have lost count of the amount of times men in power have told me they found me threatening or intimidating when I have never posed any threat intentionally. In those moments I soften. Either by feigning stupidity or by being maternal: both work.
“The predicament I find myself in now though is that I am 40 and a mother of two. This poses new threats to men or alternatively will make me inevitably slowly but surely disappear entirely. Unless, that is to say, I can figure out a way to make it all lucrative. Then I can stay in the club. Money talks and money is sexy.”
Paloma headlines a star-studded schedule on the festival’s main Life Lessons With stage. The award-winning cookery author, entrepreneur and founder of deliciously ella, Ella Mills kicks off the Saturday line up with her ‘Food for Thought’ life lesson and no-nonsense online PT and influencer James Smith follows with ‘A life you’ve always wanted, fad free’. Next to take to the limelight is the nation’s favourite furniture up-cycler, restorer and eco-designer Jay Blades MBE telling his inspirational story of ‘his biggest repair job being himself’. Husband and wife team, Dan Snow and Lady Edwina Grovesnor follow for a special live edition of the Sunday Times Relative Values and afterwards British supermodel and business entrepreneur David Gandy will share his personal life lessons learned in style during his 20 years as a global fashion icon.
