It’s love at first bite for couples across the country as Uber Eats announces a new collaboration with Jollibee to create a limited edition run of wedding cakes, allowing Brits to stand out from the crowd on their special day.
The mouth-watering partnership comes as research reveals engaged Brits are bored of traditional wedding food, with a third (34%) deciding they won’t be serving a traditional wedding cake after they say ‘i do’.
Its history in the baking as research reveals that traditional wedding food has fallen out of fashion, as over half of Brits (65%) say they won’t be serving a traditional wedding cake, fruit sponge covered in marzipan, as they don’t like the taste.
To help Brits serve up something different to their wedding guests, Uber Eats, in partnership with Jollibee, has given the classic wedding cake a quirky makeover using Jollibee’s famous menu items and ingredients, including everything from fried chicken inspired decorations, pineapple and mango infused ganache, to fondant french fries.
Cake flavours:
Tier one: Sweet & Spicy Pineapple and Sirracha sponge
Tier two: Vanilla and Ginger flavoured sponge with a refreshing Mango Chilli Jam filled centre that packs a punch
Tier three: Smooth and indulgent chocolate and ginger cake
When it comes to thinking about the overall wedding menu, 42% of British couples reveal that it’s most important that there is something for everyone, while 25% say it’s vital that the food reflects their personal taste and preference.
The limited edition cakes will be available to order exclusively via the Uber Eats app on 1st July 2022 in London, Leeds and Nottingham. Customers are advised to order fast if they want a slice of the action, as the cakes are only available while stocks last.
Matthew Price, General Manager at Uber Eats UK said: “As wedding season approaches, we know there are many couples wanting to serve up something different to a traditional fruit-based wedding cake. It’s also a great opportunity to show off your culinary tastes to your guests; that’s why we’ve teamed up with the much-loved chain Jollibee to create a limited edition run of alternative wedding cakes.”
Ashlee Campbell, Head of Marketing Jollibee Europe, said: “At Jollibee, we love getting creative with delicious flavour combinations so we were delighted when Uber Eats approached us with the challenge of creating a unique wedding cake. Our three-tiered non-traditional wedding cake is perfect for anyone looking for something different to serve their guests on their special day.”
Jollibee is now available for delivery exclusively through the Uber Eats app across the UK.
