Theatrical students welcomed back their audience for the first time in three years.
Students from Year 7 to 12 at Chase High School and Sixth Form, in Westcliff, were able to invite their families in to watch their first school production since before the pandemic.
The performance of Oliver! JR – a shortened version of the classic stage show – brought together students from the school and sixth form.
Alison Quarrell, head of performing arts, said: “It was fantastic to see the auditorium so full.
“Students showed resilience, commitment and passion throughout the process of putting on a show. Many new friendships were made and students worked together to create a truly magical performance.
“I am incredibly proud of all of the students involved. They worked so hard to create this fantastic production. The passion and teamwork they showed was just amazing.”
Pupils from Lancaster School, Earls Hall Primary School and The Westborough School were invited to watch the show.
Money raised will go towards future productions.
