Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire has appointed a new Graduate at its head office in Peterborough.
James Tillion, from Berkshire, joins the team and is currently completing the ASPIRE Programme, which will allow him to experience many different areas of the industry.
After graduating with a degree in Geography and Business Management at Bath Spa University, as well as working as an Assistant Manager at McDonald’s, James brings a wealth of skills with him and is now applying these in his role with the housebuilder.
James, 26, is currently completing an eight week rotation in the Technical team in which he will come to understand how the department contributes to the overall construction process.
He said: “I was attracted to a career with Barratt and David Wilson Homes as they are a five star housebuilder with a reputation for being the industry leader. They are also recognised for developing and rewarding talent.
“The ASPIRE graduate scheme appealed to me due to the opportunity to rotate around departments and the ability to learn about all aspects of the business. This will then allow me to see which role will suit me best in the future.
“It is great being exposed to a variety of situations and experiences that wouldn’t be possible if I went directly into a specific role. I feel supported by my team and free to learn about things that I find personally interesting and will benefit my career development best.
“My aim for the future is to initially progress through Assistant Land Buyer or Planner and move into a more senior position as I grow within the business over the coming five to 10 years.”
Daniel Evans, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “We would like to welcome James to the team and wish him the best of luck in his career with us.
“As a leading housebuilder in the county, we pride ourselves on not only providing a first-class service for our customers, but also ensuring we look after our staff and provide opportunities to progress within the company and achieve their ambitions.
“We are deeply committed to developing raw talent and work closely with our new employees to ensure they get the best from their new role.”
