FLEUR EAST, TOPLOADER and The Dualers are set to headline Colchester Anti Loo Roll Festival after organisers took the plunge to hold their second event at Lower Castle Park on Saturday 10th September 2022. The family-friendly festival, the brainchild of the Anti Loo Roll Brigade, a community group that supported vulnerable people at the beginning of the pandemic and throughout lockdown, will be overflowing with music, cabaret and entertainment.

Acts will be taking to two stages between 12:30–9:00pm. It’s set to be a great day of music and entertainment for families to enjoy, including the dulcet tones of X Factor’s singing sensation Fleur East, rock and roll from Toploader and the feel-good vibes of The Dualers, a ska and reggae band from South East London.

Local singing group, Funky Voices, will be welcomed back to the main stage for a second year, representing keyworker heroes by putting together an NHS Choir. There’ll be plenty of opportunity to sing and dance along for attendees of all generations with acts paying tribute to iconic artists such as Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Oasis, Steps and more.

TV presenter Craig Stevens will be returning as the main stage host, joined by the bubbly Nina Ambrose. The always-glamorous drag sensation, Vicki Vivacious, will also be making a comeback as the drag and cabaret stage host, keeping things running smoothly in between acts and will be joined by Britain’s Got Talent’s Ben Langley, a comedian made famous by his misheard lyrics from famous songs.

As well as great music, both stages will see performances from drag acts, comedians, and magicians – including the amazing J Spades, and caricaturist Hen the Pen, appearing in the VIP hospitality area. Families can make the most of a day full of live entertainment, enjoy food and drink from numerous different stalls, and let the little ones burn off some steam in the dedicated kid’s zone, as well as enjoying free magic shows and circus workshops, now inside the main park, at the family-friendly festival.

Peter Dutch, founder of the Anti Loo Roll Brigade, said: “I think I’m still coming down from the unbelievable high of holding the inaugural Anti Loo Roll Festival last year, after the all the lows of the pandemic that preceded it. The atmosphere was truly incredible, and I can’t thank everyone who came enough for embracing our desire to host an event which brought everyone together again in a safe and fun environment. To help people come and enjoy the day we have launched instalment payments on adult, family and hospitality tickets. We can’t wait to replicate that feeling again but on an even bigger scale. We’ve lined up some spectacular acts to headline this year’s festival, who are as excited as us that they will be performing at Colchester’s hottest ticket in town.”

Tickets can be purchased via www.antiloorollfestival.uk, with VIP opportunities, including extra acts and the chance to meet the acts, available from www.antiloorollfestival.uk/vip.
