Norfolk housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes is setting out to help the planet with environmentally-conscious features in properties at its Woodland Heath development in Sprowston.
Sustainable elements include 100% low energy LED lighting throughout all properties and enhanced specification double glazing and increased insulation thicknesses to ensure less heat escapes the home.
A proportion of homes will also feature solar panels which will allow for less energy to be used from the national grid and at some points, even transferred back to the grid by the homeowners.
Annette Hurst, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We are delighted to be delivering properties with sustainability in mind to Sprowston as we feel this it is important for all of us all to contribute as much as we can for future generations.”
Additionally, the development also provides good cycle and pedestrian links throughout, with a cycle route along the frontage of the development to encourage residents to reduce car use.
Woodland Heath aims to enhance the quality of life for residents by encouraging people to meet at and socialise in one of many open spaces around the site, including green spaces which will have an additional benefit of connecting habitats that currently support wildlife.
Barratt Developments, parent company of Barratt and David Wilson Homes, has already worked hard to reduce carbon emissions – since 2015 it has achieved a 22% fall in emissions with initiatives such as improving plant efficiency and rolling out energy efficient lighting.
Barratt Homes currently has a selection of two, three and four bedroom properties available at Woodland Heath priced from £227,995, whilst David Wilson Homes has three and four bedroom homes available from £336,995.
