HARP, Southend’s homeless charity, have issued a public thank you to everyone who has supported their 2021 Christmas Appeal.
The Charity, who support on average around 1,000 local people who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, aims to provide festivities for everyone who used their services.
This year, due to the rapidly developing situation with the Omicron variant of Covid-19, HARP had to adapt their services, but were still able to offer a festive meal and Christmas present to around 250 current active clients.
Dina Jobson, HARP’s Head of Fundraising, said: “We are delighted with this year’s response to our Christmas Appeal. From the smallest to the largest donations, whether from the general public, local businesses or generous anonymous donors, it is truly humbling to see everyone pull together as a community to provide a bit of festive cheer to vulnerable people in the local area. The donations received at Christmas help to provide festivities over Christmas, and just as importantly help to support our services in to the New Year. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the appeal.”
