HARP, Southend’s homeless charity, is inviting the local community to take part in the first-ever Southend
Pier Dash on Sunday 27th March 2022.
Participants will run one mile along Southend’s iconic pier, the longest pleasure pier in the world, to help overcome homelessness for good. The event is extremely exclusive and has only 100 places available.
Dina Jobson, HARP’s Head of Fundraising said: “We are so excited to bring this brand new event, the first of its kind, to Southend. We hope that this fun and competitive dash will be a chance for people to get involved, fundraise and run in solidarity with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in and around Southend.”
On average, HARP help around 1,000 local people every year to overcome or avoid homelessness.
Steve Johnson, Chief Executive of Ipeco said: “Ipeco is delighted to support the first-ever Southend Pier Dash. We believe as a company that it is so important to support local charities like HARP to raise funds, they do amazing work in the local community.”
All participants in the Southend Pier Dash will receive an exclusive medal and t-shirt. The event is open to experienced runners and newcomers alike, and is the perfect opportunity to set a new one mile PB in style, or simply have fun with friends. Southend Pier Dash is set to be a fantastic new event in the Essex running calendar for all abilities.
