BBC Introducing returns this December with a stellar line up. London Lexington once again plays host, welcoming three new artists breaking through in their field. ENGLISH TEACHER, FRANKIE BEETLESTONE and VIIA will all perform on Thursday 2nd December.
ENGLISH TEACHER
Surging onto the scene in late spring with pulsating anthem ‘R&B’, English Teacher have certainly made quite the early impression. From the raw, distorted guitar and bass of Sonic Youth and Slint to the white-knuckle drums and assertive vocals of punk purveyors Shame, the alt-rockers’ versatility is clear for all to see, with punchy B-side ‘Wallace’ providing further evidence of what to expect from the emerging quartet in the coming months.
FRANKIE BEETLESTONE
Frankie Beetlestone is a 19 year old singer/songwriter from Outerbridge in Sheffield. He self-writes and produces all of his music alongside directing all of his own videos. Unforgivingly genre-bending, Frankie’s music follows themes of love, youth and growing up, encompassing what life is to grow up in a working class community in modern day Britain.
VIIA
Born and raised in Darlington, County Durham, seventeen year old Viia is a sucker for leather and distorted guitars, contributing to many of her songs being about emotionally unavailable guys in bands! Viia has released three singles to date, with more new music to come, making her one to watch in 2022.
