Following two sensational sold out shows at London’s Jazz Cafe and the release of recent Ep, Growth, fast rising Londoner Olivia Dean today announces news of a new live show in Manchester this October. Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday 27th August, available HERE.
The vulnerability shown on ‘Slowly’ is reflective of much of her new EP Growth – an introspective, heartfelt collection of tracks reflecting on lessons learned over the past year, marking a significant period of growth for Dean.
She says “’Slowly’ feels like one of the most vulnerable songs I’ve ever written. I used to think falling in love was supposed to be chaotic, fiery and tumultuous, but I’ve realised that really, to fall in love normally – and to have a healthy and ordinary relationship – is a beautiful thing. It’s a song asking for patience when starting to fall in love.”
On the EP, Olivia says: “Growth is a time capsule of the last year, it’s me processing my perspective on love and loving myself. Each song feels like a different stage of understanding relationships, whether with yourself or somebody else. It’s at times felt like my most difficult project but in the end has been the most rewarding. I know myself so much better through this music.”

Olivia Dean returned to the stage last month to play two flawless sold out shows at London’s Jazz Cafe. The shows were her first since taking to the road last summer playing socially distanced shows from her custom yellow van, which she’ll be touring the UK in again this Autumn.
Last summer’s ‘From Me To You’ van tour was inspired by the community spirit of early lockdown and Olivia’s desire to spread some much-needed sunshine. Paving the way for artists to safely find a way to get back to playing live again, Olivia, the van and her band visited everywhere from London to Cornwall to Norfolk, as featured on BBC London News and Blue Peter, with performances NME called “staggeringly beautiful”. Olivia has also this week been announced to be playing a live show as a part of The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust’s Revive Live gig series alongside the likes of Mahalia and Sam Fender.
Olivia Dean’s new EP Growth comes as a culmination of her most confident and self-assured work to date and documents her personal development since the release of her debut EP Ok Love You Bye in 2019. Named recently as Amazon Music’s Breakthrough artist for 2021, Olivia Dean’s ascent as one of the UK’s brightest pop talents is undeniable.
Born and raised in Walthamstow, Olivia Dean caught the eye of London label AMF (Loyle Carner, Marika Hackman) with her first ever song ‘Reason to Stay’, which she uploaded to Spotify and Soundcloud where it quickly gained hundreds of thousands of streams. At the end of last year, Olivia shared her second EP What Am I Gonna Do On Sundays?, produced by Felix Joseph (Jorja Smith, AJ Tracey, Mahalia) and featuring the singles ‘Echo’ and ‘The Hardest Part’, it displays her flawless vocals and endearing diaristic storytelling.
Named as one to watch in 2021 by Amazon Music and VEVO, and with fans across BBC Radio 1, Beats 1, The Guardian, Sunday Times, The FADER, Harper’s Bazaar, gal-dem, Notion, Bustle, Clash, The Line of Best Fit and more, Olivia’s 2021 could not be looking brighter.
