Property consultancy Eddisons has strengthened its offering to its growing public sector client base with the launch of a dedicated national occupier and volume transaction management team. The firm has made nine appointments to bolster the new public sector hub including three across its London and Bristol offices.

Neil Houghton has joined the firm as the divisional lead for the new team’s South of England presence. Based in Eddisons’ London office, he has a decade of property market experience, including in capital markets and asset management. He joins Eddisons from JLL where he advised clients such as Aviva Investors across the office and portfolio sector.

Oliver Dembo is a new senior surveyor with the team and joins the Bristol office from CBRE’s fund valuation team. Previously, he worked for the Ministry of Justice on its Prison Estates Transformation Programme, as well as for the Valuation Office Agency.

Also joining the new team and based in the firm’s London office is graduate surveyor Vanessa Hawkins, who was formerly in the asset management team at Lambert Smith Hampton and provided landlord and occupier lease advisory services.

Eddisons head of public sector, Javid Patel, said: “Regeneration, occupier transformation and economic uncertainty are all driving increased public and private sector intervention in the property market and Eddisons’ new dedicated hub will work as a seamless extension of public sector organisations’ in-house client teams.

We are continuing to scale up this side of the business, responding to a huge growth in demand across the South of England and beyond, and our multi-talented new team is on board and already delivering results for our clients.”

Eddisons’ growing client list of public sector organisations includes Southampton, Enfield, Blackpool, Peterborough and Kirklees councils. The firm has also secured multiple framework appointments including Birmingham City Council, Homes England and government procurement partner Bramble Hub.

Earlier this month Eddisons announced it had won the contract to advise NHS Property Services on its £3bn portfolio of over 4,000 properties.
