by Kellie Tighe ~ REVIEW

Having been lucky enough to be invited along to the early opening of the long awaited ‘Tim Hortons’, I must admit I was sceptical as I had heard it was ‘coffee and donuts’ so wasn’t really expecting much, however, I was pleasantly surprised.

When you walk in there are a mix of dining tables and chairs, as well as the ‘coffee shop’ style seating, so you have the choice. There are also a lot of plug sockets and USB ports which come in handy and more often than not in other places, there aren’t enough, so that was pleasing. The atmosphere is welcoming, polite and has a chilled vibe. The staff are also very helpful.

When I saw the menu, I couldn’t believe how much selection there was. You have so much choice on the breakfast and main menus from wraps, muffins, melts and bagels, to fresh chicken, grilled or a in a crisp coating. It was good to hear that all food is made fresh onsite and nothing is fried, only baked. You get a good choice of sides from potato wedges, hash browns or onion rings, again all baked, not fried.

The children’s menu is good as they get a healthy sweet treat as well as a wrap or toastie and a little activity set which as we all know is one of the most important parts of the kid’s meal.

I opted for the ‘Tim’s Crispy Chicken Stack’ which comes in a brioche bun, I am not a fan of brioche but, it wasn’t sweet or dense at all, I also went for the chipotle and mayo sauces which had amazing flavours, and I couldn’t get over how fresh and tasty the chicken was.

My sister went for the grilled wrap which was another hit as being grilled it stopped the filling from falling out, and made for clean hands!

We also tried an ‘All Day Breakfast Wrap’, again, amazing.

There are also a lot of vegetarian options and they also cater for people with gluten intolerances and other dietary issues.

Next, the desserts. Of course, there are the many varieties of donuts along with the famous ‘Timbits’ which we just had to try, they are amazing and again there are so many varieties. They also do a small selection of buttermilk pancakes which were fab.

To wash all that down I tried the Frozen Coolers, they have so much flavour and just what you need for a hot day. The coffees, well there were so many to choose from, we went for a filter coffee and the French Vanilla Latte that we were recommended as a favourite of returning customers.

All in all, I would highly recommend! From the service to the amenities, to the food and drink you just can’t knock it. It’s also great value for money. We will certainly be going back and I am excited to see how well Tim Hortons does in Harlow.

On that note, I hope you enjoy your visit, and do try the Crispy Chicken Stack!
