Whether you’re a new vaper or are looking to make the switch from smoking, you probably have some questions to do with all things e-liquids. If you’re someone who has never touched a vaping device in your life, it’s easy to feel confused about the different types of vape liquids available.
The vaping industry has massively taken off in the past ten years or so, and while it’s brilliant that there’s so much more on offer, those who are new to the vaping scene will probably feel like they’re getting an information overload. To make things a little easier for you, this simple beginner’s guide will tell you everything you need to know about e-liquids:
What Is An E-Liquid?
Put simply, an e-liquid consists of three of three ingredients. Two of which provide the flavour (PG and VG), and the other provides the nicotine. Vaping is a great way to get your nicotine hit without the taste, smell and toxins associated with cigarettes, which is why e-cigarettes are great for those who are in the process of giving up smoking.
If you like the idea of vaping but you don’t want to become hooked on the nicotine, then there are plenty of liquids out there that contain just the two flavour elements.
How Do I Choose The Right Flavour?
Back in the day when vapes first came about, there were barely any flavours to choose from. These days, there are so many flavours on offer, that you can take your pick from hundreds of different varieties.
If you’re looking for a place to start, then head over to Aqua Vape. They offer a selection of sub ohm liquids in all different flavours, from blackcurrant lemonade, to blueberry muffin and caramel latte. If you have a specific flavour in mind, then go ahead and find it here.
What Strength Should I Choose?
E-liquids come in a range of different nicotine strengths, averaging from around 3mg to 18mg. Generally speaking, when choosing your nicotine strength, you should consider how much you used to smoke. Here’s a general guide:
Social Smokers- If you only smoke a couple of times a week when out with friends, then you’ll only need the lowest option of nicotine available. Look for e-liquids around the 3mg strength marker.
Light Smokers- For those who have up to 10 cigarettes a day, you should consider a liquid with a strength of around 6mg. This should give you the right amount of nicotine without being overpowering.
Average Smokers- If you smoke up to a pack a day, then a liquid at around 12mg should be enough for you. If you’re trying to quit smoking, then this level of nicotine should be enough to keep you satisfied.
Heavy Smokers- If you smoke more than one pack a day, then you’ll have to choose e-liquids with the maximum nicotine strength if you want your cravings to be satisfied. Choose liquids at around 18 to 24mg.
