Alt Soul artist and modern day Earth mother Aruba Red releases new live album “Live At St. Pancras Church” on 11th March 2021. The album follows up the poignant seven-part online series “Inspiration Behind The Tracks”, which has built a weekly audience with its narrative of ‘story medicine’ episodes that share Aruba Red’s healing and spiritual growth through her music.
“Live At St. Pancras Church” was recorded on 11th March 2020, a year to the day ago. The concert took place a mere week before the country went into its first lockdown and was Aruba Red’s historic debut headline show, seeing exclusive live performances of material from her EPs “Holy Waters” and “Shadow Work”.
Aruba Red said “Releasing my Inspiration Behind The Tracks series has been a wonderful opportunity to share my creative process and the deeper meanings within my music. So much goes into the making of a song, not just in terms of the actual writing and recording, but the lived experience that brought that song into being. It’s been an exhilarating seven week ride sharing this story medicine leading up to the release of the live album. It’s coming up to a whole year since we hit the stage at St Pancras Old Church and I’m excited to re-live that night again. My EPs Holy Waters and Shadow Work are fiercely personal projects fuelled by my experiences of the past 10 years and I hope this collection of live songs will continue to spread positive vibes and sow some seeds that will take root and lead to more healing, growth and connection. I’m going to think about dancing and singing on that stage and hugging my friends and family afterwards, what a beautiful night it was!”
The “Inspiration Behind The Tracks” series has carried a number of wellbeing, spirituality and female empowerment themes behind Aruba Red’s journey as an artist – looking at how she uses her pain, trauma and struggles to make the music performed live from the new live album. Delving into self-discovery, healing, transformation and how experiences influenced creative practice and songwriting. Each episode has taken a deeper look at the themes within 7 album tracks, from overcoming narcissistic abuse, the transformational journey of motherhood, leaving the audience with deeply poignant and uplifting affirmations. The album and series have been funded by the Help Musicians Do It Differently Fund Covid round.
March 2021 also sees Aruba Red make a guest appearance on Nitin Sawhney’s hotly awaited new album ‘Immigrants’ on the stunning track ‘Replay’.
