The Local Gin Company is looking for taste testers in the East of England to help them select the very best gins for their craft gin boxes.
A job advert posted on their website says the ideal candidates must enjoy drinking gin served with tonic and ‘be able to provide honest feedback to their Gin Selection Team’.
Key requirements for the role are: A glass, ice and tonic (gin will be provided!).
As part of their panel of experts, successful applicants will get to try Premium Pink and Dry Gins – which are all made in the UK – before anyone else.
Only if they pass the taste test will they make it into The Local Gin Company’s gin boxes, which cost £40 each and can be purchased as a gift or ongoing subscription.
The company are seeking two gin tasters from each of the eight regions The Local Gin Company currently operates in: the East of England, London, the South West, the South East, the Midlands, North West, North East and Yorkshire and the Humber – meaning there are 16 jobs up for grabs.
The position, set to start in 2021, will be a regular role. And while it won’t be paid in money, there will be lots and lots of gin.
Madelaine Power, founder of The Local Gin Company, who is from Felsted, Essex, said: ‘Our mission is to help people discover amazing gin being produced on their doorstep – and who better to decide whether gins make it into our boxes than the local gin community themselves.’
