The clock on Pembroke House in Pitsea is ticking once more thanks to investment from the Pitsea Town Centre Working Group.
With money allocated from the council’s Neighbourhood’s and Public Spaces Committee, the working group chaired by Councillor Andrew Ansell, allocated funding to have the clock repaired and also committed funding to replenish planters in the town centre. The clock cost £2,500 to repair.
A further £3,000 was invested in improvements to the planters in town.
Chairman of the Pitsea Town Centre Working Group Councillor Andrew Ansell said: “This clock is a popular landmark for people in Pitsea and we are delighted to have been able to assist in getting it working again.
“It is also another great example of Pitsea councillors from across the political divide working together to help make the area a better place.
“We are also pleased to invest in the planters which will add some colour and vibrancy to the town.”
