A Croydon builder thought he was still dreaming after waking up to discover he had won a Mercedes C63s AMG worth £80,000, thanks to car competition BOTB.
Giovanni Sottile, 31, was called by BOTB presenter Christian Williams who this morning delivered the good news.
“I honestly couldn’t quite believe it,” said Giovanni. “I was still sleeping when I was called, and I thought ‘I must still be dreaming’.”
Giovanni, who works building homes in the south London area, says he is a long time fan of Mercedes and that it was a dream come true to win the C63s AMG.
“I have always loved the sound of a Mercedes,” he said. “I love driving and I can’t wait to be able to take the car on a long drive, maybe to Rome where I am originally from.”
Giovanni is the second south London winner in a week, with 26-year-old decorator Victor Massari from Mottingham becoming the first winner of BOTB’s new Midweek Car Competition, landing a BMW M2 worth £52,000.
Christian surprises winners every week, although throughout the coronavirus crisis he has been contacting winners over video chat, rather than visiting them on their doorsteps.
“If you love Mercedes as much as Giovanni clearly does, then this is a great car to win, and I’m sure he is going to have a lot of fun,” said Christian.
“His road trip plans to Rome after lockdown sound like an amazing experience and I am sure he will have a great time travelling in style.”
