World Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Joshua, surprised Dev Griffin and Sam Thompson at his first ever boxing gym, Finchley ABC in Barnet as part of Lucozade Sport’s podcast Running The Show to deliver a masterclass in mental preparation as the pair were put through their paces for episode three.
AJ discusses the preparation he went through during training for his rematch with Andy Ruiz and how he adopted a new mindset to enjoy running before taking the hosts through a series of pad work combinations and pitting them against each other in a three-minute challenge, (something AJ used to do at the end of each training session) with the loser then subjected to a forfeit set by AJ’s trainer.

Lucozade Sport teamed up with Dev Griffin and Sam Thompson to create a brand-new podcast series called “Running The Show” – a non-runners’ guide to entering the world of running which ends with the duo attempting to take on the most famous challenge of them all… a marathon.
The series from Lucozade Sport has been following the pair through their training plan with the help of special guests including trainers, nutritionists and mindfulness experts, and Anthony Joshua is the latest guest to offer advice on the mental side of sport, fitness tips and the importance of running to boxing.
