K-Pop Star Oli London and Love Island Contestant team up for Anti-Bullying Documentary
British K-Pop star Oli London and Love Island 2017 contestant Ellisha-Jade have teamed up for an upcoming British TV documentary to help tackle online-bullying.
Set to air early summer, ‘ConTrolled’ will tackle the problems with cyber bullying, and key issues young people are faced with in the age of social media.
Oli London, star of Dr. Phil (CBS), Botched (E!) and Barcroft TV has faced a barrage of online abuse since he first caught the world’s attention back in 2018.
He has been the subject of constant controversy since revealing to the world he has had 15 plastic surgeries to look like K-Pop star, Jimin of BTS. He has also become Europe’s first K-Pop solo artist, with two top 10 hits but his music career has attracted trememdous online criticism.
According to his publicist, Oli will ‘Open up his emotions like never before and show a vulnerable and sensitive side where he will detail the constant online death threats and abuse he faces daily and how he struggles dealing with this’.
Star of ITV’s hit reality show Love Island, Ellisha- Jade will interview both Oli and another online abuse victim and delve into the negative consequences it can have on mental health. Ellisha, is no stranger to online trolls having received a barrage of online abuse since appearing on the hugely popular British show back in 2017.
Love Island, the UKs most popular reality show, has been rocked with the tragic suicide of its presenter Caroline Flack as well as two former contestants Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon who also tragically took their own lives due to online bullying.
Oli and Ellisha-Jade have come together to help expose the traumatic and often devatstating results of being bullied online. The pair will also help send an inspiring message to young people to be kind to one another and to think twice before putting negative comments on social media.
Oli’s new single, Mirror Mirror, which reflects on online bullying and sends a powerful message of self-confidence while encouraging people to ignore bullys is due for worldwide release on March 1st.
