All funds raised will go towards granting life-changing wishes for critically ill children at a time of unprecedented demand at the charity.
Make-A-Wish UK Chief Executive Jason Suckley said: “Around 49,000 children in the UK are living with a serious illness. The moment they’re diagnosed, the simple pleasures of childhood and family life are replaced by worry, medical treatment and separation.
“More children than ever have turned to us for a wish in recent months – around 1700 between July and November 2019 alone. We believe every one of those children has a unique desire or aspiration and deserves to be granted that wish – providing lasting memories, the joy associated with something they’ve chosen and where the focus is back on childhood. Monies raised from this event will help us do that.”
Make-A-Wish UK is a registered charity that was established in the UK in 1986. Since then the organisation has granted 14,000 wishes and it receives no Government funding – registered charity number: 295672 / SC037479.
