Ever wondered why a flamingo eats with its head upside down? Or why snakes don’t blink? Chessington World of Adventures Resort today, has announced the launch of its brand-new service, ‘Wild WhatsApp’, allowing those with burning animal-related questions to contact the Resort’s Zoo Keepers direct.
In a world of fake news, questions text to ‘Wild WhatsApp’ will be answered straight by the experts, Chessington’s experienced Keepers, who from Monday (February 3) will be on hand during working hours (9am to 5pm) to answer questions on a wide range of animal topics, even dispelling some common creature misconceptions, like the myth fish only have a three second memory.

Charlotte Mockford, Senior Keeper, at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, commented: “As a Zoo Keeper, I have been asked everything from whether a zebra is black with white stripes or white with black stripes, to how long is a giraffe’s tongue and what is the difference between an ostrich and an emu. I’m intrigued to see what we’ll be asked via ‘Wild Whatsapp’ – we’re ready to be put to the test!”
Chessington’s ‘Wild Whatsapp’ service will be available from Monday February 3 from 9am to 5pm (Monday to Friday), with all questions submitted to 07725 489 169, answered within 30 minutes.

This year Chessington unearths a NEW Land, the Rainforest, featuring three rides – Jungle Rangers, River Rafts and Treetop Hoppers.
Joining 10 other Lands at the Theme Park and Zoo, the Rainforest is inspired by the Resort’s support of international conservation charity, World Land Trust (WLT), which protects the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats acre-by-acre. With its new Land, Chessington hopes to educate guests, via a fun day out, about the importance of conserving the world’s rainforests.
In addition to the Rainforest, children’s picture book character, Elmer, flies in on the first-ever ride themed after everyone’s favourite patchwork elephant, as Chessington launches, Elmer’s Flying Jumbos.
