Luxury country house hotel Down Hall has been named Hotel Wedding Venue of the Year at the prestigious annual Essex Wedding Awards.
The award follows an extensive £1.2 million refurbishment to the hotel’s West Wing earlier this year, which was redeveloped to provide a dedicated, purpose-designed space for weddings and events. Fully licensed for civil ceremonies, the reimagined space includes six event rooms, a master suite for the bridal party and groom’s room complete with pool table and PS4, and is set within 110 acres of gorgeous woodland, parkland and newly landscaped gardens complete with a stunning wedding gazebo, perfect for outdoor ceremonies.

Winners were announced at a glamourous black-tie gala dinner at Orsett Hall Hotel and Spa on 27th November. The Essex Wedding awards celebrate the very best of the county’s wedding professionals, services and venues. The awards are unique to Essex and are independently judged by engaged couples, gift list managers and a specially selected panel of industry experts.
