Basildon town centre was buzzing with festive shoppers who turned out for this year’s festive event culminating in a free fireworks display on Saturday (16 November).
There was also a raft of attractions including an ice rink, Bavarian food court and Santa’s grotto.
St Martin’s Square played host to an entertainment stage featuring acts provided by Gateway 97.8 FM.
Activities ran from 10am to 6pm across the town from Eastgate, Basildon Market, and Town Square all the way to St Martin’s Square.
Chairman of Basildon Council’s Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee Councillor David Harrison, said:
“Basildon at Christmas was an excellent way to kick-off the festive season. The town centre was buzzing with activities for all to enjoy and it provided a wonderful boost for local traders.”
