Home Farm Primary School and Prettygate Infants & Junior School have come together to host the biggest fireworks spectacular in the West of Colchester this November.
The Big Bang Family Fireworks Night will take place on 7th November at Prettygate Infant & Junior School and is expected to play host to over 2,000 people in the biggest event of its kind in the local area.
With a top quality display from Dynamic Fireworks, along with fairground rides, Glow Stick Dancers, a licensed bar, candy floss BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven, the event is expected to draw in families from the local area and beyond and raise valuable funds for the two schools.
“Home Farm has run a very successful fireworks night for some years but we now want to be able to grow the event further and host a new event for the whole community,” explains Elizabeth Humphries, School Governor and Chair of the parent’s association, Friend of Prettygate. “Everyone in the area has always loved having a great fireworks night right on their doorstep, so it is fantastic to be able to build an even bigger event by uniting our two schools and working together. We hope to welcome families from all over Colchester.”
“We are very excited to be working closely with Friends of Prettygate to organise what we hope will be an amazing fireworks display. This event is a great way to build relations with another local school and really unite the whole community and we hope this year’s event will be the first of many,” adds Nikki Whiteford co-chair of Home Farm School Association at Home Farm Primary School.
The Big Bang Family Fireworks Night will take place on 7th November at Prettygate Infant & Junior School, Plume Avenue, Colchester. The event will open at 5.15pm, with the fireworks starting at 6.45pm.
