Father Christmas is once again swapping his sleigh and reindeer for an easyJet plane on Saturday 7 December to raise cash for Essex charities and good causes whilst delivering an enchanting festive experience in the skies for local children.
The hugely popular Santa Flights are back at London Southend Airport for 2019, and tickets go on sale on Wednesday 6 November. There will be two release times, 11am till midday and 7pm till 8pm.
Santa will be at the controls, with his cheeky band of elves as the cabin crew to look after and entertain everyone with carol singing and games, during the two 45-minute flights.
Before boarding the fun-filled flight, the Christmas experience will start in the departures lounge. There will be a specially designated area full of festive fun and activities, including children’s entertainer Ziggy Zoo, face painting and a Mega Inflatables snow globe bouncer. Cliffs Pavilion will be hosting a Robin Hood panto themed arts and crafts area and there will be delicious festive treats, refreshments, Christmas stalls and an opportunity to write a letter to Father Christmas. All children will receive a surprise goody bag (kindly donated by PMS International Toys in Basildon).
Glyn Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Stobart Aviation, owners of London Southend Airport says: “The festive Santa Flights are a truly magical day out for the children and their families, so we are delighted to be able to provide them again, whilst also raising much-needed funds for fantastic local charities and good causes. In 2018 we were able to donate more than £14,000 and we are very much hoping to top that figure this year.”
Santa Flight tickets cost £80 per person (infants under 2 fly free if seated with an adult). There are two separate 45 min flights taking place on Saturday 7 December – check-in at 13.00 for a 15:00 departure (finishing at 16.00) or check-in at 15.00 arrival for a 17:00 departure finishing at 18.00).
