This week Madonna turns 61 and what better way to celebrate than to pay tribute in a piece of rare art… Unable to find an American Pie, food delivery company Deliveroo teamed up with Fanny’s, to create an edible masterpiece.
The aptly named ‘Papa Don’t Shish’ kebab is stuffed with slaw, salad and a generous spread of hummus and peppers – customers can then customise their kebab with their favourite ingredients, either chicken, lamb, halloumi or avocado. The kebab is then wrapped with bread featuring an iconic image of Madge inspired by her famous True Blue album cover. The image will be applied to the kebab using state of the art edible squid ink stamps.
Jacek Bilinski at Fanny’s Kebabs said, “We love celebrating our favourite artists and putting Madonna’s face on one of our kebabs felt like an honour. Happy Birthday Madge!”
Joe Groves at Deliveroo said “I mean let’s face it, nothing says Madonna more than a tasty kebab, ok maybe some things do, but she’s great and we love her and wanted to honour her with some tasty food.”
The Deliveroo exclusive Papa Don’t Shish will be available from Fanny’s Kebabs on Friday 16 August and priced at £5.
