It’s a difficult task to remain positive forever, especially when the world is full of negative vibes. One needs inspiration and motivation to stay focused. Personally, I think inspiring and motivating someone is a tricky task. It has to be real and effective at the same time. If it’s any kind of sport then it becomes even more complicated. As in most of the sports, the success rate is very less.
Therefore, the feeling of giving up is certain. Luckily, despite the scenario, there are many sports person who has an aura of inspiration to motivate young lads. One such sportsperson is Yassir Sliti. The champion volleyball player was born on 12th May 1982 in Larache Morocco. He started his volleyball career in London and then moved to Docklands. After getting out of the university, he became a full-time player. He started playing in the Netherlands, MartinusAmstelveen from the year 2006 and continued till the year 2008. The diagonal attacker then moved to Al-Wakrah sports club in Qatar. He then ascended to the Belgian first division PrefexisMenen. He played for the German Bundesliga club Rottenburgfrom 2011 to 2012. He was also part of the Olympic Games in London.
His journey from a small city to the biggest stage inspired many sportspersons to actively participate in sports. There are many young players who consider Yassir Sliti as the main source of inspiration behind their journey as a player. However, there is one player whose journey stands out. Nourdine Hmaimou, a young footballer from Yassir’s hometown dedicates his journey to Yassir Sliti. According to the Moroccan footballer, it was Yassir who literally encouraged him to transform his football skill to a professional level. Yassir met Nourdine as a BTEC sports coach during Nourdine’s two years in Langdon Park 6th form and was instantly attracted to the young lad’s talent. He used to teach a bunch of youths a variety of sports for the physical excursion. It was during this tenure when Yassir spotted the special talent in Nourdine and suggested him to concentrate on football. This was a turning point in Nourdine’s career.
The most interesting part of the story is Yassir spotted Nourdinewhile they were carrying out a practical lesson where the students were asked to play football for one hour. Yassir was so impressed with Nourdine’s skill that he offered him the captaincy of the college football team. Yassir was so confident that Nourdine couldn’t let go of the offer. Nourdine went on to captain the side for two years doing wonders on the field. Yassirhad a special affection towards Nourdine since the later was from his hometown. Yassir made sure to train Nourdine in the college gym every Monday and Friday. He also took out time to train different skills to Nourdine. These training sessions were specially crafted by Yassir to make sure Nourdine evolves as a successful player in all aspect.
Both of them made sure to develop their bond post-college. Yassir still makes sure to pass valuable suggestions to Nourdinein all forms of life. Yassir has reportedly stated that he has high hopes pinned on Nourdine and believes that one day he would make every people in Larache proud.
