A team of 11 accountants from Loughton accountancy firm, Haslers, have swapped their smart shoes for studs as they take on other local businesses at the World Cup-On-Sea charity football tournament.

The squad, made up of experts from the firm’s various departments, was one of more than 30 teams taking part in the seven-a-side event at Roots Hall Stadium, Southend on 18 May, which was raising money for HARP and Trust Links.

Organised by AJ Chambers and supported by several companies the event was an excellent way for the team to make new professional connections while challenging themselves against the best that Essex had to offer.

HARP is Southend’s homeless charity, helping over 1,000 local people every year who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Meanwhile, Trust Links is the local mental health and wellbeing charity working in South East Essex to support people experiencing mental health problems, learning disabilities, young people and unpaid carers.

Jon O’Shea, Chairman of Haslers Chartered Accountants, said: at JW Hinks and the man behind the firm’s participation in this event, said: “We are really proud of the team for taking time out to support fantastic causes in the name of the firm.

“They played extremely well and put a lot of work into helping raise money for HARP and Trust Links, which is really commendable.”
