Acclaimed synthpop pioneer Howard Jones will be touring the UK in May 2019 to celebrate both the release of his brand new album ‘Transform’ and 35th anniversary of the release of his debut album Human’s Lib. Howard will be joined by very special guests China Crisis.
‘Transform’, Howard’s first release since 2015’s multi-media album ‘Engage’ is scheduled for May 2019 and sees Howard returning to his electronic pop roots. ‘It’s been a long time since I have made an album full of electronic based pop tunes, I know it’s the record many of my fans have been waiting patiently for.’ On at least two of the new songs Howard is collaborating with the electronic US producer BT. ‘I have been a huge fan of BT’s for many years,’ comments Howard ‘we finally met and have been working and developing two new songs which I am really excited about, he is beyond doubt one of the most gifted electronic musicians out there.’
Howard is in some of the best live form of his life, 2018 was packed with 50 headline US shows and a summer of festival appearances. On presenting the new show Howard promises that he will be ‘bringing a lot of synths’ and that ticket holders are in store for both a “sonic and visual feast.”
As well as performing songs from the new album, concert goers can expect to hear many classic songs including ‘What Is Love’, ‘New Song’, ‘Pearl In The Shell’, ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ and ‘Hide and Seek’ ( which he performed at Live Aid). To coincide with the 35th anniversary, Cherry Red Records are releasing box sets of both Human’s Lib and Dream Into Action in November 2018.
Joining Howard will be China Crisis. Eddie Lundon and Gary Daly will be performing their unique and glorious Mersyside pop with hits such as ‘Wishful Thinking’, ‘Black Man Ray’ and ‘Working With Fire and Steel’.
