Residents wanting to find out more about crime prevention are being urged to attend the final Together for Safer Communities meetings of the municipal year.
The sessions aim to give residents the chance to discuss community safety issues and concerns. There is also an opportunity to pick up free crime prevention materials including property and bike marking kits, window alarms, signal blockers for key fobs, vehicle crime packs, number plate screws, personal alarms, contactless card defenders, purse dipping bells and ‘No Cold Calling’ stickers.
The next Together for Safer Communities meeting will take place at Noak Bridge Village Hall from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday 17 January. The final session of the series will take place at the Laindon West Community Centre on Monday 18 February.
Councillor Andrew Barnes, Chairman of the Communities Committee, said: “We are committed to making the borough a safer place by working with our partners to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour. It’s important that we take the time to understand the community safety issues which matter most to our residents, and equip them with the tools to protect themselves and their property.
“I hope those who have already attended our Together for Safer Communities meetings over the past seven months found them to be informative and reassuring, and I look forward to welcoming more residents to our final two sessions.”
