HALF of Millennial workers in the east of England believe that not drinking alcohol can dent their career prospects as they can no longer socialise with their bosses after work.
Fifty per cent of workers aged 25-34 surveyed in the area said abstaining from booze would be detrimental to their career, compared to just ten per cent of those aged 35-44.
A third (32%) of all adults in the area say they feel pressurised to drink by their friends and say they have had to change their friends because they do not drink as much, according to research to mark Alcohol Awareness Day by non-alcoholic drinks firm Mocktails.
And three in ten (29%) say they are not invited to social gatherings because they are a non-drinker, according to the survey.
Almost three in ten (29%) young people aged 18-24 said they do not drink any alcohol, reflecting a recent survey that showed younger people in Britain are shunning booze.
