Hundreds of young people attended a free drop-in event to find out more about further education and career opportunities available to them.
Basildon Council organised Your Future 2018 to offer advice to 15 to 19 year-olds in the borough. The event, which took place at the Towngate Theatre, was an opportunity to meet representatives from colleges, sixth forms and local companies.
Sponsored by the employer-led Essex Employment and Skills Board, the event provided information on apprenticeships and vocational training.
Workshops were on offer for parents, with James Sinclair, owner of Marsh Farm and Partyman, also speaking about the importance of entrepreneurship and the key to success.
