Chelmsford Museum’s Gallery Wall art space is extending the current art exhibition by Jonathan Harvey – Thomas, due to public demand. Jonathan’s ‘The Journeys of Hercules and I’ will now run until Friday 14 December.

Mark Curteis, Chelmsford Museum, said: “The show has proven very popular with visitors, with many people returning several times to admire Jonathan’s art”. Mark continued: “I believe that the wildlife subject matter, along with the artist’s talent for capturing their likeness, has really connected and engaged with people, so based on the feedback from the public we are extending the exhibition into December to give more people time to appreciate these wonderful pictures”.

Jonathan Harvey – Thomas is the Head of Art at Chelmsford County High School. Jonathan says: ”I use my own skills to demonstrate to the next generation and inspire them with my own pieces of art work. I take joy from creating imagery that can bring a personal touch to someone’s home and go that little bit extra to create the perfect piece”. Of his exhibition Jonathan says: “It based on the visual documentation of the animals and insects I encounter on my dog walks with Hercules the Dachshund. I use the surroundings of the viaducts, play areas and natural elements to inspire my compositions, colours and techniques”.
