Christmas has arrived early at Braxted Park as it officially launched its inaugural Christmas Market at an exclusive event hosted by Braxted Park Event’s CEO Alex Rayner.
During the launch event on Tuesday 9th October, guests participated in a Festive Edible Gifts workshop and were the first to be given full details of this exciting local food and gift market which is being held on 1st and 2nd December and organised in conjunction with Maldon District Council’s Sense of Place campaign.
This free to attend, two-day event will champion amazing local businesses and artisan producers, who will be selling items available to take home for Christmas presents, all from within the grand surroundings of Braxted Park.
This historic country estate, Braxted Park is usually closed to the public, so the Braxted Park Christmas Market provides a rare opportunity to see the house and 500 acres of parklands, woodland and gardens hidden behind the wall.
There will be local food and drink available to enjoy at the market, as well as wine and spirit tastings provided by the team behind Maldon District Council’s Grape & Grain Trail.
Younger visitors to the market will be able to visit Mrs Christmas’s Kitchen to decorate an edible treat to take home, and some of Father Christmas’s reindeer will be paying the estate a visit throughout the two days.
There will be free entertainment from The Rockabellas, the Big Sing, Funky Voices Choir and a number of local school choirs.
Over the weekend The Cookery School at Braxted Park will be opening its doors for exclusive hands-on cookery workshops with celebrated chef Tim Maddams (River Cottage). Tickets for these workshops are £10 and are available from www.christmasatbraxtedpark.com
