Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
Arrive to the beautiful English countryside on Christmas Eve and indulge in Down Hall’s special afternoon tea served in the impressively opulent lounge. Tuck into a selection of seasonal finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and delicious cakes whilst sitting next to the roaring fire. Join in on carolling around the tree whilst sipping mulled wine and indulging in mince pies. A three-course dinner will follow before guests hit the hay for an unbeatable night’s sleep. Reception can also facilitate those interested in attending midnight mass in the beautiful St. Mary’s Church, Sheerling.
Wake up on the big day and enjoy a hearty full English before unwrapping gifts in the morning and relishing that warm, merry feeling. Santa will make an appearance at 11am in the lounge to greet the little ones before jumping on his sleigh to fly back to the North Pole. Join the hotel staff for a glass of Champagne before a luxurious five-course Christmas lunch accompanied by the resident pianist. In the afternoon, guests can work off lunch with a brisk walk around the grounds before watching the Queen’s speech at 3:00pm.

Boxing Day
Put your feet up the day after Christmas and let Down Hall treat you to day of feasting. Kick off Boxing Day with a full English breakfast, before heading outside to take part in a choice of falconry or laser clay shooting on the grounds. Warm up with a delicious three-course carvery buffet lunch in the Bridgeman Suite with family and friends. That evening, The Quartones will provide spectacular jazz entertainment whilst guests tuck into a three-course dinner. To round off the day, a special Christmas movie will be shown at 7:30pm, the perfect way to end the Christmas festivities. On the morning of the 27th, a full English breakfast will be served before guests head home.
New Year’s Eve Black Tie Ball
Ring in 2019 in style at Down Hall Hotel & Spa’s annual New Year’s Eve Black Tie Ball. Kick off the evening with a Champagne and canapé reception before enjoying a four-course dinner with half a bottle of wine per person in the gorgeous lounge. Tuck into a delicious dill cured salmon, avocado, radish and almond milk to start, followed by a gin and tonic with lime palate cleanser. For the main, a juicy roasted beef fillet with tender stem broccoli, truffled dauphinoise and madeira jus will be served and to top off dinner, guests will enjoy a strawberry, white chocolate meringue with Thai basil. Afterwards, dance the night away to Down Hall’s resident DJ or play a hand of Roulette or Black Jack on the casino tables.
