Harlow’s sporting stars are to be celebrated once again as the nominations for the Harlow Sports Awards 2018 open.
The Harlow Sport Awards, which are nominated by the public, celebrate and recognise local sporting talent and achievements in the town.
This year’s event is being organised in partnership with Phoenix Live, with prizes being provided in partnership with Decathlon Harlow and promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The 2018 awards will be held at the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre on the evening of 22 November 2018. The evening will begin with a reception, with entertainment organised by Phoenix Live, and canapés provided by Skylight Restaurant in the Gibberd Gallery before the awards ceremony starts.
Nominations are now open and there are categories for everyone from the washer-upper and kitbag carrier to the Olympic or Paralympic athlete! The categories are:
- Active in the Workplace
- Changing Lives through Sport and Physical Activity
- Coach of the Year
- Community Club of the Year
- Disabled Sports Personality of the Year
- Education Champion of the Year
- Services to Inclusive Sport
- Sports Personality of the Year
- Unsung Hero
- Young Sports Personality of the Year
- Young Volunteer
The deadline for voting is Sunday 14 October 2018 and nominations can be made at www.harlow.gov.uk/sports-awards
Exceptional nominations will be automatically put forward for the Active Essex Sports Awards (www.activeessex.org/sports-awards-2018).
