Harlow Council has launched a new £10,000 community fund to support local projects, activities and events which aim to raise pride in the town.
The Civic Pride Community Fund is part of the Harlow is 70 legacy and aims to build on the local pride which grew out of the town’s birthday celebrations.
The fund is open to all Harlow-based agencies, organisations and voluntary groups. Applicants can bid for funding from £50 up to £500.
These events and projects could include a community litter pick, a school event, an art project or anything which involves local people and makes a difference.
Harlow’s 70th birthday celebrations did so much good in raising pride in the town and celebrating achievements and the Council wants that to continue. Last year over 70 community events and projects were organised with support from the Council and over 19,000 people took part in these. This fund means the Council can continue to support a range of local community events and projects that will benefit local residents.
