On Thursday 16 August, Perrywood Garden Centre held its second Blooming Great Tea Party for Marie Curie in the centre’s Terrace Room.
With acapella singers from Rococo Quartet entertaining and over 70 customers in attendance, the Blooming Great Tea Party was a great success. Perrywood was also joined by representatives Val Kruse, Monica Addison and Biyanca Etienne, from Marie Curie. The event included many generous donations of raffle prizes from suppliers including: Anglia Produce, Clough Eggs, Little Fish Shop and Fairfield Farm Crisps. The donations included fruit hampers, Perrywood planters, champagne and more.
All proceeds raised have gone towards Marie Curie who provide care and support for people facing a terminal illness and their families.
Hannah Powell, Communications & HR Manager at Perrywood, says: “Thanks to the generosity of our customers, the Marie Curie Blooming Great Tea Party was a “blooming great” success. Seventy of our customers attended and we raised an impressive £1,498 throughout the afternoon from ticket sales, a raffle and the donation of knitted daffodils from Sue Gould and Essex Knitters and Stitchers.”
She added “The atmosphere in the Coffee Shop was a wonderful one and we are delighted to have been able to support this fantastic charity with such a fun-filled event. We are delighted to be supporting Marie Curie this year and hope to raise further funds in the forthcoming months.”
