Finding a career that suits you is very challenging and often takes a bit of trial and error. Many people can’t feel motivated in a job until they truly feel passionate about what they’re doing so finding that spark that combines their interests with hard work is important.
When you find something you’re passionate about, you can invest all your energy into your work and look for new ways to progress your career. If you enjoy what you do, you’re more likely to progress up any company ladder and you never know, a company may hire the best headhunters Montreal to get you to join their company!
There’s a big difference between those who love what they do and those who are just there to collect the cheque at the end of the month. This is what causes a lot of people to feel stuck – they have gone down a particular career path that doesn’t suit them and now they think that’s all they can do. But, this isn’t true! And this new pop-up shop will show them how to change their path.
A pop-up career and employment shop will be set up in Basildon Town Centre as part of a series of activities designed to support skills training.
Basildon Council’s Economic Growth and Development Committee last night (Thursday 5 July) agreed to implement the recommendations proposed by the Pathways to Success panel. The panel was established to investigate how schools, businesses and education providers work together to provide routes to employment.
The pop-up shop will be open to all residents, but is aimed in particular at young people aged 16 to 26, people in low paid work and those who are unemployed.
It will offer the following services:
• One-on-one career advice
• School and employer liaison
• Adverts for current vacancies and apprenticeship/traineeship opportunities
• Job search support including CV writing
• Benefit advice for in-work benefits and childcare support
• Employer events
