Star Track at Lee Valley Athletics Centre
Budding young athletes aiming to follow in the footsteps of some of Britain’s finest Olympians can sign up for Star Track, a week-long introductory course teaching children different athletic disciplines. Lee Valley Aquathlon at Lee Valley White Water Centre
Hundreds of competitors and spectators are set to return to Lee Valley White Water Centre next month to take part in the fourth aquathlon of 2018. Entrants will need to complete a 250-500m swim in the venue’s lake before finishing with a 3-5.5km scenic run through River Lee Country Park. Family Bushcraft at WaterWorks Centre Nature Reserve
Gather your nearest and dearest and head to one of the park’s award winning open spaces to learn handy outdoor survival skills during this daytime workshop. Traditional and modern fire lighting, handling tools and wild food identification are just some of the lessons on offer from the skilled Rangers leading the hands on session. Wild Wednesdays – Terrific Trees
Children aged between 4 – 12 years old will relish the chance to connect with one of nature’s giants during this two-hour, interactive outdoor workshop. Attendees will be encouraged to befriend trees before assigning them faces, created using clay and natural objects. The group event will also see the outdoor leaders host scavenger hunts as well as arts and crafts activities. Bikes and Bakes at Lee Valley VeloPark
Grab your mates and head to Lee Valley VeloPark for a morning of cycling, coffee and cake!
Cycling is a great way to stay healthy and spend time with friends which is why the London 2012 Legacy venue has launched a new Bikes and Bakes event to encourage more people to cycle together and reap the benefits.
During the event, which aims to encourage groups of friends to cycle for fun and fitness, riders will take on the loops and bends of the venues one mile traffic free road circuit before sitting down to enjoy some well-deserved coffee and cake.
