The British Museum’s Grenville Room Shop is a world-famous destination store for discerning consumers seeking exclusive and beautiful high-end pieces of jewellery and art inspired by the past.

The British Museum is the world’s oldest national public museum and the UK’s most loved and popular visitor attraction.  On display in its collections are a number of original Lalique items including jewellery and home interior pieces. This ground-breaking new partnership between Lalique and the British Museum brings together two synergistic brands, epitomising the ultimate fusion of beauty, luxury and history.  The new range launches this month in support of the highly acclaimed new exhibition, ‘Rodin and the art of ancient Greece’, which runs from 26 April – 29 July.

René Lalique was dubbed ‘the Rodin of transparencies’ by Maurice Rostand.  All of the Lalique pieces in the new range in-store in the Grenville Room Shop and Exhibition Shop were models designed during the lifetime of Rodin.

Founded over a century ago, in 1888, Lalique has endured as the ultimate symbol of French luxury. The founder of modern jewellery, René Lalique, the leader of the Art Nouveau movement, was a revolutionary artist, both with a huge following, from the European courts to artistic and industrial milieus around the world.

This prolific genius infused his maison with such poetic force that 150 years later his art has become timeless.
