Thursday 8 March was World Kidney Day and staff at Southend University Hospital were out in force raising awareness of the importance of kidneys to our overall health, helping to reduce the number and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems.
Medical Matron Kelly Moore and her team manned an exhibition stand, offering practical advice and also giving free blood pressure and blood sugar checks.
She said: “We’ve had a fantastic response from both staff and patients and seen over 120 people, it’s been really positive and we were also able to advise a few people with higher than expected”
