From the history of tea to Essex murders and caring for animals, the Jaywick Martello Tower has announced a series of talks for 2018.
The talks will launch on Friday 2 March and they will run every week until 23 March.
The admission for the talks is only £2 per person.
They will last one hour and there will also be the opportunity to the presenters questions at the end.
Three Years in the Mud: New Archaeological Discoveries in the Blackwater Estuary
Friday 2 March, 11am
Oliver Hutchinson discusses the work of CITiZAN (Coastal and InterTidal Zone Archaeological Network) in exploring, recording, and preserving the archaeology that has been revealed by the Blackwater estuary.
A light Hearted History of Tea. Friday 9 March, 11am
Andy Schooler will be coming for a nice cup of tea and a sit down to give a reliable and accurate history of tea and tea drinking, laced with a considerable amount of humour.
Essex Murders
16 March, 11am
Ex-police officer and current volunteer at the Essex Police Museum Chris Farndell will be giving a talk on a number of murders committed in the county.
Cases include those that have gained notoriety, used innovative forensic evidence and even some still unsolved to form a history of crime solving in the county during the last 130 years.
Caring for Animals at Colchester Zoo
23 March, 11am
Using a range of examples and videos from the animals at Colchester Zoo, this presentation covers some of the main aspects of animal husbandry from animal training and enrichment to breeding.
